Carver Center's 2024 SKILLS USA Season Kick-Off for 5th-8th Graders

October 24, 2024. The George Washington Carver Community Center held an exciting two-day kick-off event on October 21st and 22nd to launch the 2024 SKILLS USA season. The event welcomed eager 5th—to 8th graders into this year’s program and set the stage for a season full of learning, teamwork, and personal development within the center’s long-standing SKILLS USA chapter.

Program Director and advisors shared their enthusiasm about leading students through the SKILLS USA framework, which equips young learners with essential leadership and career-readiness skills. Participants will engage in practical activities and challenges that nurture their growth and prepare them for future academic and professional success.

“We’re looking forward to seeing these students grow and thrive as they build the skills that will prepare them for bright futures,” said one advisor.

The SKILLS USA program at the Carver Center is a unique opportunity for students to explore new interests, collaborate on projects, and participate in competitions reflecting real-world scenarios. This season is designed to lay the foundation for long-term success while fostering personal growth and teamwork among the students.

Stay tuned for more updates throughout the season as the students take on new challenges and reach exciting milestones.
